Milwaukee Trip Day 3

Today it was still quite cold, but we woke up to a promising sun to lift our spirits from yesterday's gloomy snow. We started our morning at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary where our pastors are trained to be well... pastors! We sat in their chapel and toured the campus. They have a stunning campus inside and out! The sun and blue skies complemented the campus quite well! We also shared our time at the Seminary with the Croixaliers!

Such a beautiful perspective from this photo!

We watched the Croixaliers perform a song in the chapel!

After our fun morning outing, we headed back to Wisconsin Lutheran College for lunch and a tour!

On our tour, we sat in these swivel chairs that could turn 360 degrees! Maybe it's time for some St. Croix teachers to get some too? (*wink wink*)

After our tour, we moved on to visit the Milwaukee Bucks Pro Shop. After that fun little pit stop, we drove to Grace Oasis, based in Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, a place for Christian fellowship for people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction to mental health issues. There, we helped them out by cleaning up around their church, packed food pantry boxes, and even served some dinner to attendees and then joined in on their fellowship full of tunes and all around conversation. God has truly blessed the attendees to go through recovery and find Him despite their ongoing hardships. Truly grateful that God gave us an opportunity to shed some light on them today!
Packing the boxes in with plenty of boxed and canned goods!
Hard work makes the dream work!

Lots of trash was hidden in these bushes. Felt like we were treasure hunting when going through these brushes!
Serving some delicious boiled cabbage, carrots, and potatoes to the attendees!

Also served plenty of fruits along with some toasted bread and butter!
Our day came to a close once the singing and studying were over, but we enjoyed ourselves and our eyes were even opened after hearing many stories! God's blessings on all of them as their journey through life continues! Tomorrow we continue our trip at Lighthouse Youth Center!

Milwaukee Trip Day 2

Today we woke up to the outside covered in snow leaving the outdoors cold and windy! Luckily, that did not stop us from having fun!
This was the view of outside if you stepped out our hotel porch. Definitely not the time to play in the pool across from our rooms. Brrrr!
We started our morning with a lovely breakfast full of eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns made by Mrs. Enter and Bruno. Thanks, guys for the tasty eats!
After our delicious breakfast, we headed on into the waterpark for an hour to have some thrills and relax. Needless to say, there were some tricks up this waterpark's sleeve!
The waterpark was quite huge and this is only a snippet of it!
So here is one of the waterpark's tricks, a pool... outside! This pool is open year round no matter the weather outside! When we gave this a pool a shot it was hailing outside with snow surrounding the pool! It was crazy! Pastor Enter and a couple of us may have thrown a couple snowballs at each other.... hehehe!
After the waterpark, we washed up and had some lunch before we headed on to the amusement park, Tom Foolery's! While we were eating we got a visit from one of the mascots from the park. Meet Kenya the Elephant!

Kaycee got quite a fright from Kenya!

Meanwhile, Mrs. Enter and Kenya got along quite well!
After finishing up our lunch and hanging out with Kenya we went on to enjoy some rides!
Readyyyyyyy to RUMBLE!

Who will win?
Some thrillseeker students had fun on this crazy ride!

Alas, it was time to leave Kalahari Resort and move on to Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) to find our roommates for the night, catch up with some old friends, and as Mrs. Enter would say adjust our circadian rhythms (get some sleep hehe!)!
Tomorrow we get the opportunity to tour Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and Wisconsin Lutheran College and end our night at Grace Oasis. More to come soon!

Milwaukee Mission Trip: Day 1

Day one started out kind of iffy... asking ourselves if we are going to go today or not. We were told no, and the group was sad. Then the snow started and we were told that we were going!

The trip was long to get here because of the snow, but we made it!... to Wisconsin Dells. After a short trip to Walmart to pick up breakfast, we arrived at Kalahari resort.  Animals, Waterpark, and amusement parks await us! All of us can't wait!

From all of us here,
Bruno, Isaiah, Bekah, Nicole, Kirk, Kaycee, Pastor Enter, and Debbi
